Renegade MASH Handbook

OOC Mash Licensee Objective:

Mash Cultures

Mash Cultures are the method used by Renegade Team Building to simulate the IC Cultures of the fantasy game World of Ralsted. The method chosen is the shuffled combination of OOC Empires, Kingdoms and Earldoms from all over the OOC real World from all OOC time periods up until 1700. IC Ralsted Empires are influenced by historical data on the OOC Kingdoms that make up the IC Empire. IC Kingdoms are influenced by the resulting IC Empire as well as historical data on each OOC Earldom that make up the Kingdom. IC Earldoms are influenced by both the IC Kingdom and IC Empire that they belong to.

One of the primary rules of Mashing the three real World OOC locations, cultures and time periods into a unique IC Mash are that no Kingdom or Earldom may be from the same Empire as it was in original Earth history. A Mash Licensee must blend the Cultures and fill in the details of the Imperial rulers including the names, Races and their belief in the Gods; then the Kingdom selected for the Mash; then the Earldom. Next, there will be the need to create plausible reasons for their existence of the Mash, such as Migration, Intermarriage, Succession, Transfer of regions through peaceful negotiation or war. Mash Costume CCC will also be required.

While the four IC Empires selected by Renegade Team Building for inclusion in the Renegade LARP Campaign have already been applied to the World Map of Ralsted; enthusiastic individuals may become a Mash Licensee of an existing Mash when and when it becomes available, or create their own Mash that Players may choose to use as their own Character background culture or for a group of players.

As explained in the Mash Licensee contract, the content created by Licensee in the World of Ralsted for the Renegade Campaign will remain the property of Renegade Team Building in order to protect the integrity of the Game World and ensure that the Mash content remains available to any other Licensee should the original Mash Author cease to be involved in the Game. Therefore, any content created by a Mash Licensee will become and remain the IP of Renegade Team Building.

Records and references used to create a Mash will remain with Renegade Team Building so they can remain available to other Licensee in the creation of their characters as well as used as inspiration for story and plot. The Mash created in this example will be used in the Lord’s Handbook.

1. Create the Mash

A Mash is primarily a Three Way Influence of Empire, Kingdom and Earldom with secondary influences when it is accepted that an Empire is a combination of all of its Kingdoms and a Kingdom is a combination of all of its Earldoms.

At the beginning of the Renegade Campaign, as there are four Earldom’s competing for control over the Earldom of Valeni Renegade Theatre Company have created the MASH Empires, Kingdoms and Earldoms to suit; based on the combinations illustrated below in Smart Art Graphics.

For the Four Empires surrounding the Earldom of Valeni, Renegade Theatre Company have created a series of Coat of Arms; beginning with the colors used to represent Empire, Kingdom and Earldom and then selecting a Coat Of Arms.

In the case of the Four Empires surrounding the Earldom of Valeni, Renegade Theatre Company have purchased the Stock Art Illustration Commercial Rights to the artwork of Marc Radle for non exclusive commercial use before modification of the Artwork; by Renegade Theatre Company; to suit the needs of the Mash. The artwork was sourced from DrivethruRPG.com and Mark Radle’s Signature will appear in any prints.
